Llandaf Author Publishes Fast-Paced Thriller

“What you did wasn't murder… He deserved everything he got. In the old days, they slaughtered surplus animals in November. Blood Month, they called it. That's all you did. You rid the world of a useless beast…”

A brand new thriller set in the Vale of Glamorgan has been released by Y Lolfa publishers this week. Blood Month by William Vaughan is a detective story set in a fictional boys' boarding school in Llanover, where a young teacher chances upon the body of the unpopular headmaster. As well as revealing a list of possible suspects, the resulting investigation also uncovers accusations of sexual misconduct and a climate of jealousy and intrigue.

16/07/2013: Book Launch - A Celtic Canvas: The life, work and times of Carey Morris
Carey Morris was born in Llandeilo in 1882, and was a man endowed with many gifts, as painter, illustrator, author and even cellist, but he has not perhaps received the recognition which he deserves. Sir Kyffin Williams himself noted that Carey Morris was a "very talented professional artist whose work has been neglected."

'A Celtic Canvas' is the first book to address this neglect. It has been written by Dr Glyn Rhys, retired physician and close friend of the artist.

The launch will be held on Tuesday night, 16 July at 7.30pm in Newton House, Llandeilo. Speakers will include Dr.Brinley Jones and Lynn Hughes, and wine will be served.
