Delme: The Autobiography
Delme Thomas Other books by Delme Thomas
This is the honest and frank autobiography of one of the heroes of Llanelli, Wales and Lions rugby, Delme Thomas. He reached the pinnacle with his club, country, and internationally, over a 15-year playing career. He was chosen to be part of the Lions tour in 1966, despite not yet being capped by Wales. He was also captain of Llanelli, and led them to a famous victory against the All Blacks at Stradey Park in 1972. He became well known in the rugby world, gaining everyone's respect in the field - and that respect continues to this day. Giving up his playing career was not an easy decision, and he suffered from depression for a period afterwards. Only now, in this memoir, is he able to remind us of his glorious career.

"That he came through to his present happy state of mind and body is testament to his strong family ties and the support of many friends. Delme Thomas remains a passionate supporter of Welsh rugby and still attends home games of the Athletic and the Quins at Carmarthen. His life story is a happy and fulfilled one. The book is similarly rewarding." - Barri Hurford, Secretary – Welsh Rugby Writers
"The cover of this autobiography condenses perfectly the essence of the life and career of its subject. No need for a surname. No need for a clever, catchy title. The book is summarised in three words... This is the simple story of a simple, home-loving man, honest, unassuming but forthright. He would be the last man to consider himself a hero. But in the eyes of the common people, a hero he was, and will always remain." - Lyn Ebenezer, Gwales
"An excellent account of how a top sportsman achieved success at the highest level and overcame problems following his retirement." - John T Morris, Cambria Magazine
