I attended Ysgol Gynradd Llanrug and Ysgol Uwchradd Brynrefail, Llanrug. There followed an excellent I time at college in Cardiff studying Chemistry and then a PhD on Degradation of Polyurethanes.
I started teaching as a chemistry teacher at Ysgol Alun, Mold; before moving to Haverfordwest; then Gwernyfed High School and finally spending 26 years as Headteacher of Llanidloes High School.
Since retiring five years ago I have indulged my interest in history and have published two historical novels: 'Glyndwr's daughter' and 'Llywelyn' and a third, 'The last of the Welsh Kings' will be published soon.
The novels attempt to make history more interesting, explore the role of women and the lamentable lack of information about Welsh women in the middle ages.
Angharad and I have lived in Llanidloes for 30 years. I'm an Europhile and my favourite part of that continent is the South of France where we spend as much time as possible.
